. First week of July features high ranking visits to AWIPEV Base: 3. July visit by L. Fabius, French Foreign Minister, together with the Norwegian Foreign Minister Børge Brende and the French ambassador to Oslo, M. Rives.  On 4. July, Dr. Axel Berg, German ambassador to Norway and Directors Prof. Karin Lochte (AWI) and D. van der Kroef (NWO) started a 4 day visit to Ny-Ålesund and the AWIPEV installations in Kongsfjorden area.
